J.J. Kim is the Founding Partner of ACI Law Group, specializing in customs, international trade, maritime and logistics, food safety, and intellectual property law. He represents clients before major U.S. government agencies—including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC)—as well as the U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) and various federal and state courts.
Mr. Kim’s practice covers a broad spectrum of corporate operations and cross-border transactions, ranging from corporate governance and regulatory compliance to customs valuation, import admissibility reviews, regulatory audits and investigations, anti-parallel importation, food safety, intellectual property rights, and trade remedies. He regularly advises and represents clients on complex matters such as penalties and seizures, liquidated damages claims, cargo disputes, country-of-origin marking, free trade agreements (FTAs), cross-border contracts, international litigation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
In addition, Mr. Kim handles a wide range of commercial disputes, including international trade and transport litigation. He has extensive experience managing litigation and dispute resolution before courts and labor commissions, successfully representing leading Korean conglomerates in high-stakes corporate matters. He has also authored numerous publications on key topics and emerging issues in international trade.
